Allan,
Sweetwater is a wonderful town - "Capital of Wind Energy" it seems. I 'm just about 2 hours northwest of there in Lubbock where I have only seen one estate sale having only 2 fountain pens (a Bordeaux 144 and a very cheap Waterman) since I've become addicted to this fasciinating disorder.
Oh, the estate sale also had a bottle of Montblanc Black Ink in MB's old bottle...I left the pens and bought the ink.
Bruce,
Anyone who can survive Sul Ross has to be an OK guy - My brother got his Master's Degree in Violin there...Not the best place for Fiddlin'...
I am certainly in the red dirt country being in Lubbock and it is too often going by at 50 MPH or 50 ft high in a West Texas "Haboob" Translated dirt storm for anyone in Post, Texas. CW Post of the cereal dynasty settled there actually thinking it was Utopia. It's just 45 minutes from my home and Utopia it isn't. Mr Post seemed to be a bit flakey (Post Toasties).
Greg - I hear very good things about your work and very well may call on you some day hopefully before I ruin a pen trying to "tune" one.
David,
Thanks for the opportunity to get on this forum. I truly believe I have some Parkers and maybe a Sheaffer or two that are related to some of your pens. I understand if you will need to restructure your Last Will and Testament to include me as I am my Pens' only living care-taker.
To all that wonder... I am a Counselor here in the State of Texas. I have found that If I counsel any Pen Addicts, I would be practicing outside the scope of my license. I can however receive pens as gifts.
Just something to note...
So far there are many things I haven't a clue of when it come to pens but I know I am afflicted and will learn in time. May my wallet hold out!
I do hereby claim to have the biggest fountain pen collection within a 250 mile circle of Lubbock. PLEASE someone prove me wrong!
