Hi everyone,

Is there such a thing as vinatge paper?

Time to reorder Crane 100% cotton 32# Monarch size stationary & envelopes.

According to Crane's site-- "No Longer Available."

http://www.crane.com...nvelopes/cs7116

Say it ain't so!

I've found this paper seems to give me the best lines with no feathering or bleed-through.  Disappointing if they've stopped making it in a nice 'in between' size.

A local stationer some in stock, but it's  per sheet  at what I'd thought was a ridiculous price.

Now I'm thinking of buying the whole darned blue box!

Before I go paper crazy though.

Anyone know where I can get this size in 100% cotton, off white color?

thx

I love vintage paper but finding something specific is hit-and-miss. Set up an ebay search for it where you're notified if any gets listed. I found a box of Crane's out-of-production Old Money paper that way.

I don't know if this is close but I have this in my Etsy store https://www.etsy.com...rch_query=crane

Hi Jill,

Sorry for late reply.  I'm not very good at checking pen related e-mail account.

Stationer won't come down on price.  Buying her remaining inventory at 30 cents a sheet/envelope adds up!  Guess I'll have to go to... A-6 is next size down?

Book marked your shop though.

And onion skin paper!  Reminds me of some of my Dad's paperwork from WW-II.  Don't know if onionskin was to save on weight or conserve wood, but much of the Army Air Corps stuff was on onion skin.

Anyway, if ever get a typewriter I've been wanting-- a Royal (double paned glass) #10-- I'll know where to get some cool paper for it!

thx

You can always have a printer (print shop) cut down 8½ x 11 paper for you. They only charge a dollar or so per cut  for cutting an entire ream.

Not a bad idea.  Things seem so obvious once someone else points them out.  ; )

Spoilage would give me plenty of little strips to test pens, practice flourishes, consistant letters, etc.

Cheap copy paper ends up getting fibers in nib and can never bring myself to practice on the really good paper.

Thanks for the tip!
