Chicago Pen Show news in June – isn’t this is a bit odd?  Yes, read on!

The Chicago Pen Show partnership is proud to announce that next year’s show is on the usual weekend at our new venue, The Chicago Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates!  This is an 8,000 foot ballroom with a sunken atrium immediately in front of the ballroom so that we will be able to accommodate 160 tables.  The hotel, itself was built in 2002 and is very nice.  While not having a regular shuttle to O’Hare the hotel does contract with a third party for this service and, with some planning, those of you that need the airport can arrange to go in groups very cheaply (only 20 minutes from the airport).  This is not to mention that the rooms are only $110 so everyone is saving $29 a night, more than makes up for any expense to and from O’Hare.  If you are just driving in the hotel is east of 39 immediately off of 90 or just west of the 290 extension from Schaumburg.

We’ll go in chronological order – Thursday night pizza party.  This is now a freaking event!  Why?  Well the pizza is coming from Lou Malnati’s so it is premium Chicago pizza and not just the hotel’s concept of pizza.  If you are the four day pen extravaganza junky the pizza event will set the mood.  Friday will be weekend setup!  That is exactly what it sounds like – you set up Friday you will be set up for the weekend – NO TEARDOWNS.  Saturday and Sunday will be open to the public and we will be promoting the show here on out so if the public turnout isn’t record it won’t be from a lack of trying.  The parking is free and the entry fee is $5 because it is a lot easier to make change than $6.

Watch the website which we will be frequently updating soon (still got to do a few things there).  There will be a lot of dealers in 2016 that haven’t been with us before or haven’t been with us for a few years.  The Chicago Show is back!

Great news.  Had nice time at the evolving show this year. Next year sounds to be better still.

I think I might attend as well. With my ever expanding business of repairs and increased volume of pens being supplied to me by new, professional contacts, this will be a good place to pick up additional inventory/contacts. Would love to join you for the conversation group/hang out in 2016 but you will save money on me as I don't drink.

Just picked up 2, 51 double jewel sets with 14k trim, yeah!

See you in D.C? I will be there for sure!

Congratulations on the reboot, Roger. As I get closer to... being less of a working stiff, I'm starting to think about traveling further for pen shows. Been a while since I've been to the tool maker, stacker of wheat.
