Hi all!

Thought I would share a recent repair of a M800 Pelikan Nib Repair that found its way into the laundry machine. Suffice it to say the owner is happy with the careful reshaping of the nib back into factory new condition!

I am reduced to things like "holy shit!" Greg, that goes beyond the realm of craft into artistry, and in this instance, congratulations are definitely in order.

Greg, truly an amazing repair.

Thank you David! You would be surprised how many of these soft, modern Pelikan nibs I see that need repair, not to this extent but still, some really damaged nibs out there.

Thank you Jon! As I said to David above, it is amazing how many of these modern, relatively soft modern Pelikan nibs out there suffer such fates.

Is it art or handicraft?

Did the repair require annealing or just patience/skill?

Did the repair require annealing or just patience/skill?

This required patient work with hand tools only, and an approach to the various twists that minimized fatigue to the metal as well, so a bit of patience and some skill.

Thanks, that was my question too. It's good to know how much wiggle room there is with some gold, the ones I play with are much less... uh....folded. Thanks for sharing your skill with us!
