i was the underbidder on this UK lot that just sold for about $370 on ebay. i think you'll find an interesting pen or two here:

Sorry you lost it and sorry I didn't see it ;)

I have one of the English-ish smooth-band OS Vacs. Another would have been nice.

Lately I've been inhaling good Sheaffer from Ebay but have somewhat skipped on Vac hunting as I'm seeing pens of interest less often and have been finding pens in Janesville. It appears I need to look at ebay a bit more closely.

regards

I saw that lot and thought the band was so worn the chevrons had disappeared so gave it a miss. Shows how much I know!!!

David, I think you put that link in the wrong thread.

I think you're right.

Too many groups (FB) and message boards in open windows at once.  I will fix.

Well, I'm pretty disappointed in this one.  It is definitely a project.  Barrel threads are worn and the cap doesn't secure, and the inner cap has come loose.  The nib is USA-made and the tipping is broken off.

Not quite sure what I should do with this one...

"Barrel threads are worn and the cap doesn't secure"

I have several pens with a similar problem. Is it possible to fix it? If you put a transparent celluloid and make a new thread?

Barrel threads can be expanded a smidgeon by a few skilled restorers who do that sort.

Ron Zorn did a fantastic job fixing the inner cap and the non-threading problem in about 15 minutes at the DC pen show.  Now to address the nib issue, and it will be a fine pen.
