I picked up this nice Eversharp Doric this afternoon. It has a flexible Gold Seal nib and is in a bit better shape than the last one.

Nice.  The plastic has some issues, and I'm not sure that one started out Gold Seal (I'm guessing no Gold Seal in the cap), but ag ood Gold Seal nib is worth way more than what you paid, and having it turn up in a usable Doric body is nothing about which to complain.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure the Gold Seal nib was added later as there is no gold seal on the cap. I know the plastic has issues, but this one is a bit better than the last one I bought and I'll keep an eye on it.

On the subject of decaying celluloid, has best practice for preservation changed recently? My understanding is to keep it away from other pens in a well ventilated space and that there isn't much else you can do.

Thanks,

Eric
