I don't hunt these aggressively, but during more than a decade I've bought them casually, when they presented the right way.  I even have a few duplicates.  What many call the Parker Raven, but which was described (rather than named?) Parker's Raven Black and Gold pen in the 1929 catalogue appeared iirc through the 1932 Parker catalogue. Bummed that I could not find my chased plastic example tonight. I'm probably overdue to put together a small article about these. Had they not turned up in catalogues, no doubt they would be called "Thrift Time" pens by today's collectors. They have typical Parker contour and bland Parker imprint without series name.

Here are seven varieties.

Subtlety at its finest. Big fan of the bandless caps too,

My Raven is the same as the one on the far right with the single cap band in David's photo. Although it's a bit thin for me for everyday writing, I do like the flexible nib that it has because it lays down a nice line variation.

Just testing my new account. I love black pens and am borderline BPS, black pen society.

Nice group David.

Do Raven Black-and-Golds generally feature Lucky Curvy-imprint nibs as well as Christmas tree feeds?

The flat top Permanite Black and Gold pens shown in the 1927 catalog in the PCA library have Lucky Curve imprints and nibs.

Not necessarily. These pens were made over a period of a few years. There are many pens with the early 1930s imprint just showing a Parker imprint.
