Does anyone know if this can be replaced, assuming I can get the inner cap out? My chances of finding a donor pen are remote, in this part of the world, but the rest of the pen is is good condition with a nice straight 5-30 nib, so I could entertain the idea of sending it overseas to someone who could repair the filling system and replace the clip.

Any thoughts welcome.

John

It's a tough repair. The tabs are fragile.

5-30 nib suggests Canadian pen.  Clip style?

Hi David, yes it's a Canadian pen.  The clip is plain with no engraving.

It's a rare and low-tier variant Canadian clip.  I've seen only couple pens with it. If you have a 5-30 nib you can get away with a fairly generic Sheaffer full-ball clip or flat-ball clip. Still not sure it can survive removal from donor and installation.

Thanks David

I'll have a think.  I could ask the seller for a refund (I did ask her on the auction if there was any damage and she said that there was not)  but the rest of the pen is quite nice.  I paid NZ$47 for the pen and a Sheaffer's leather case.  I think that works out to about US$30.

Anyway I really appreciate you taking the time to answer as I know how busy you are.

Regards

John
