My (ugly) DIY Pen Box ....
This was hastily put together ,
using scraps of greyboards leftover from crafting so many journals ...
(somehow I just knew there'd be some use for them greyboards ... )
Everything was done just by guestimating, the jagged edges are meant to disguise any inaccuracy ...
As I go along, I just cut to size.
And trimmed, if out of size.
The covers and base are strips glued side by side and across the direction on two different layers
Base and lid are two-ply
Back hinge.
Corners are reinforced with bookcloth
The inside tray is just some stiff magazine cover folded into an accordion shape and glued with 'fake' (self-adhesive) velvet paper
Of course, of utmost importance is keeping the box perfectly square.
A tri-square was crucial.
The boards used are 3mm thick, 2.5mm thick and 1.5mm thick.
But if ever I were to craft another one, I will stick with 3mm ply for rigidity.
Glued together using only white PVA glue, which is very strong upon drying.
I suppose I can glue some foam rubber on the inside lid , but then again it doesn't get carried around ...
The box is rock solid.
But it won't survive moisture damage !
Its greyboard !

Hello
I have no idea now what I paid for this display. It was quite a few years ago now. Sorry, I can't be of help. A display seems be going for a lot now days.
