I'm not an expert at all but I tend to share FarmBoy's comment.

These pens pop up a bit to often to be called prototypes. I'd call them kind of a pre series.

A prototype is a pen which has never been produced industrially, even not as a small series.

BTW: Khediri is trying to sell this pen since one year at least. The price seems fair for me, but I think that there is a hidden minimum bid which is higher than this...

I have not settled on a term.  I currently like Test Market pen.
