Tricky Parker #12 Nib Repair

Hi Everyone!
 

Just had to share this tricky Parker #12 nib repair I did last month. Completely split in two and needing a retip as well.

That is an absolute incredible repair, unbelievable!

I really do not understand how you achieve that smooth surface on the repaired nib.

 

Even for a nibmeister this repair was a real tour de force I guess, congratulations!

Even for a nibmeister this repair was a real tour de force I guess, congratulations!

Thanks Jos! It takes a bit of doing, especially with the correct curvature of the nib so that the repaired nib will fit the feed as original. Some little pock marks here and there, but I also did a bit of hand-engraving of the imprint to bring it back close to original.

Really nice job Greg. It's a good save on a valuable nib that would be near-impossible to replace.
