Barrel has a good transparency, but there is a certain red tone throughout it?

Do you think that it is a discoloration?

Nice find! Enjoy your Junior. Vacumatics are outstanding writers and I'm sure this one is no exception.

As for discoloration, this looks like a reasonably clear example. If you can see the breather tube through the barrel you have pretty good transparency. I have examples that run the gamut between "almost clear" to transparent red amber. The silver trim looks nice on this one as well.

Note: Although the plastic color may have "drifted" with age, this looks to be a standard gray model Junior.

Best regards,

Jon

Hi Jon,
thank you for the useful information. So, although the color of the pen appears to be green marbled, this is a gray model?

Alfredo
P.S. The trims have been replated by the friend which is restoring it

I'll second the verdict on it being a grey pen – unless the trim started out gold plated. Chrome trim points to grey marbled (gold trim to green), as these were the catalogued combinations. While Vacs were prone to anomalies, these are uncommon, and I've never personally handled or seen a photo of a green marble Junior with chrome trim.
