I'll walk into the light to allow you to recognise me after such a long time 'down under' in Tasmania.

I have found and purchased this item today, and know little about it at all.... it DID, however, call out to me - hence it is now a new companion.

Can / Does anybody know anything about this, or know of someone who would know something they could tell me about it and it's contents.

In anticipation

It is a sumi set.  The ink  stick is rubbed on the stone with water to make it soluble and it is then used for painting pictures by the same name and also for writing. Google sumi then click on images to see the type of art associated with the set.

PS alternate spelling is sumi-e.
