I remember seeing prints of the kittens, in all of the colors, many years ago. It was, what I believe the artist renditions of the artwork? They were not marked Carter's, but anyone that saw the advertisements, knew what they were. The were real cool, not sure who had them, or what happened to them.
Rick,
This might be one of the prints you remember:

I think there were others recently, but don't see them now.

The bottle looks 100% full, and has the original box! The ink looks like it was bottled yesterday- no sedimentation at all!
I have already tried some of it- Looks greenish-blue, but faded. I recall thinking the same of the Sheaffer Quink BB that I purchased a year or two back as well!
Just goes to show that vintage ink was not as "vibrant" as modern inks!

True, but...I have some Carter washable blue ink that is quite lovely and relatively "vibrant" (rather like Diamine Mediterranean Blue.) I don't know if it was that way originally or if evaporation has just made it more saturated.1369235933[/url]' post='25560']

Fantastic collection! I have never seen any of those items before, but I used to use Carter's red ink to write letters to a girlfriend in the early 1970s when I was in the Air Force. Used my midnight blue 51 back then that I bought in the BX. Carters was a nice ink.
