My mother used to bring home left over food from the school cafeteria where she taught. Once I reached in her purse for something and pulled out what felt like a mummified finger. It was an old mummified hot dog. This looks like that.

My kids found it entertaining. I went in the closet and got out the emergency backpacks that had gradually gotten buried by odds and ends.

Wonderful stuff! Ars longa, at least!

This is my favorite day-off trip to make to calm my frazzled nerves. I have bought some lovely pens from Fred, had some good repairs done (most fun when I get to watch), and talked about Jazz, the weather, and you name it.
