About Me
I have been a writer since high school, with a Papermate Malibu that I still own being my first significant pen acquisition. My first fountain pen is a green Parker 45 that came in a set owned by my dear late mother. Dad gave me a chrome Cross Century 1 ballpoint for HS graduation, and I've collected pens ever since.
The bulk of my collection is USA-made Cross ballpoints, with multiples of Centuries 1, 2, & 2000, Townsend, Metropolis, Radiance, and misc, others. My focus on fountain pens developed in the mid-1990s, when I added FP Townsends, an Apogee and a Century 2000 to my batch. I also accumulate modern-era USA Sheaffers, with several Preludes and Legacy models, plus some Imperials, and one Targa (so far).
My Parker collection now includes two 45s, one 21 and a Jotter FP, plus numerous Sonnet BPs and Jotter BPs for daily use.
Other pens include a new Bexley Simplicity 2 FP, plus various Rotring, Pilot, Papermate, Pelikan and other BPs and Gels.
I'm a pen user, and accumulator, not a true collector. I buy mostly 1960's and later USA-made pens because that covers my time on this earth. But I have lots of pens from other countries, so if I like a pen and can afford it, I'll buy it. I also keep the pens I buy, unless I lose them. Medium nibs best suit my writing style, but I have a couple of Fine-nib pens in my collection too.
