Thompson Pens New Website "Blooper"

23 January 2014 - 04:26 PM

When one goes to the trouble to put up a new website and then has over 500 hits within the first twenty-four hours the site is active, one should be pleased, right? As my kids would say, "Not"!  As it turns out the Web Designer forgot to activate my "Contact Me" email address within my site.

If you looked at my site and tried to contact me with no response from me, that is why. I didn't get your inquiry. They promised a "fix" later today. I would invite you to try again if you tried and failed to get a response.

Thompson Pens New Website

20 January 2014 - 07:49 PM

Finally! My new website is up for review today. I purchased the monthly maintenance plan so I should be able to keep it up to date. My old site came off the ark with Noah!

I am planning to attend the LA Pen Show for the first time in four years. I purchased my airline tickets. Now I just need to get some pens ready. Take a looks if you would like.

Two Replica Centennials in Titanium

07 January 2014 - 09:37 PM

A customer sent me two nibs and ask me to turn replicas in Titanium into which I could fit the nibs. One was the Mk-1 arrow nib and the other the banner nib. They are at the engraver in que for engraving. I put the banner emblem on the top of the cap of the Mk-1 but I do not think that this early model came with the emblem. I have a forth quarter 1990 Mk-1 and it has no emblem on top. The second pen has the 1992 tapper at the top of the cap with matching cap bands. These took me 10-12 hours each to complete.

Thompson Pens

Hi friends, it's been awhile!

17 April 2013 - 03:45 PM

I've been away from the Pen Show routine for about two years now. My shop was closed, my website has not worked since internet explorer was in its infancy. My shop is now open on a part-time basis and as soon as I find a local webmaster, my site will be up again. My wife has sent me to the shop with a new pen design that she sketched on notebook paper. I turned five proto-types for her while she decided what jewels she wanted to have a jeweler install on the tops of the pens. I put whatever I could fine on top of the pens so that she could get an idea of what her design could look like. I stuck nibs, I had in my nib drawer, into the pens for show while we decide what nib they will sport. I will post pictures of the pens in the gallery as soon as I figure out how to get that done. Your opinions would be welcome. I will look forward to reuniting with ole friends. I just wish we could set down together over a hot cup of java, a glass of wine, and maybe even a cigar. I don't smoke but my wife smokes cigars, so she braggs. My guess is that she would love to join the guys in that effort. I probably would have one sick girl on my hands after a few draws down her wind pipe. I look forward to joining conversations on this site. I will post pictures as soon as I learn how. I think I need to resize my jpegs. Stay tuned!

Be blessed!
