For Sale - Wahl Eversharp DORIC Set

07 March 2012 - 07:57 AM

I have to offer a Wahl Doric lever filler set that is in very nice condition. There is an engraving on the clip, but an original, as was offered in the 1930s catalogues. The engraving is MP. I received this pen in a trade about a year or so ago, from a well reputed FPN member. It came to me with a well installed silicone ink sac and in very clean condition. I have inked it once or twice since.

The nib is marked FLEXIBLE, and I would call it a full flex, with a fine line when no pressure is put. It comes with a working matching pencil.

This set is marked with a good imprint, Made in Canada.

Make it yours for $200 shipped CONUS by USPS priority mail, or your best reasonable offer.

Need a blind cap for a blue Vac...

17 October 2011 - 01:18 AM

I grabbed this lot on the bay, I didn't get it with any expectations, but if I can find a decently matching blind cap, I am hoping it is possible to restore the blue vacumatic. How hard are they to come across? How much might one cost? Is there anyone I could contact specifically to find this part?

Does anyone here have a big parts bin? :o :)

Two finds saved from destruction...

12 July 2011 - 02:42 AM

I posted before about finding a gold buyer locally who I asked to sell me any Fountain pens for at least their gold value, instead of being dissected and scrapped for precious metals. Well I got a call Friday about two pens and a Sheaffer box that might be of interest, one with a gold nib. Saturday I went and picked them up for $10, the estimated value of the Eagle pen's gold nib, the box and Parker were freebies! :D

The Parker turned out to be a very nice Parker 21 Custom, apparently a little more uncommon; black resin(?) barrel and section with a 12k R.G.P. cap. All I had to do was a thorough flushing and cleaning of the Aerometric filling system, and I had a super smooth writer.

The Eagle is imprinted "NEVER BREAK", and is silver plated, with some minor wear and plating loss. I was able to do a quick restoration of the filling system being a basic lever filler. Another nice writer I may consider having retipped in the future.

FS: Lot: Several Pens, +ink, Great Buy!

04 July 2011 - 10:19 PM

I have three pens and a bottle of ink bundled for a good price. Descriptions below.

1. Black Mentmore Diploma, English button filler. I have restored its filling system, and it is a decent writer, the trim looks very good for its age, and there are no major blemishes to this pen, only small marks and scratches (micro-scratches mostly). The nib is a 14ct gold Mentmore Osmi-iridium nib.

2. Grey Mentmore Auto-Flow, English button filler. This one is for parts or restoration. The filling system is not working, it needs a new pressure bar, the silicone sac could stay or be replaced (your choice), it is good for usage though. It has a chip on the 'back' of the cap, it does not affect the pen, other than cosmetically, I don't know how to 'fill it in'. It has a crack in the barrel, but I think it is completely repairable; you see, this pen has a seam from manufacturing that runs in a circle down the length of the barrel, it as come loose, and just needs to be mended I think. I know nothing about repairing plastics, but I know it can be done, I have seen several example on the web. Byt until the filler is restored and the barrel stabilized I would consider this a 'parts pen'. The nib is also a 14ct gold Mentmore Osmi-iridium nib.

3. Green Esterbrook J, Transitional, lever filler made in the U.S.A. This pen is working and has a 1515 nib unit installed (it can be swapped easily for any re-new point in the Esterbrook line). I have lightly done some polishing to the body, but it still has some small micro scratches. Regular jewel on the cap. The clip is a bit loose, not as in, coming loose, but it is not tight for clipping to a pocket. This is an easy fix (look in the Esterbrook forum for a demonstration). The filling system works just fine. The only real flaw is a hairline crack under the cap band, it seems stable, I have used it allot and it has not gotten any worse. The Esterbrook imprint is still very good. A great writer!

4. Diamine Dark Brown 80ml ink bottle, Unopened and new, a freebie for buying the pens!

I want to sell this lot together, it is a good deal for the buyer, and easy for me to manage this many items. $45.00 takes everything! :)

Shipping will be $3.00 CONUS - outside the CONUS, please inquire.

PM or email for questions please,

FS/Trade - Montegrappa Harmony Non-Production-Colour

04 July 2011 - 07:01 PM

I would like to trade, or maybe sell, my Montegrappa Harmony, in a non-production, deep and swirled resin colour (prototype ?). I bought it about 6 months ago, and since then I have only inked it twice. I don't know why, but as much as I love its looks, and as smoothly as its 'M' nib writes, it just doesn't call to me. I would really like to trade it for another pen, probably a Visconti, Montblanc or Pelikan. If you have any pen that would sell (not retail) between the $300-$400 range, please give me a PM or email for trade. I would especially like to try a Visconti Homo Sapiens, any nib size besides an oblique would be gladly considered.

Specs:
~ C/C Filler (comes with converter).
~ 18k two tone 'Greek key' Montegrappa nib.
~ Sterling silver trim.
~ Resin body and cap.
~ Cap posts by screwing to the barrel end.
~ Faceted body.

Price: $375.00

If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I only have used Diamine and Waterman inks so far in this pen. It is in like new condition, no flaws.
