Autopoint

There were some comments and questions on here about Autopoint fountain pens.  I have a few of them.  So I wrote 2 short essays, about AP FP's produced in the late-1920's, as well as their fountain pens produced in the mid-1940's.  You can find those essays at vintageautopoint.com.  They're posted as moderately large PDF files, so you can view them with Adobe Reader, but they may take a short time to load.

Would like some help in identifying which fountain pen company produced this gold filled overlay.  Should be two pictures below of the subject overlay.  Believe it or not, this "part of a fountain pen barrel" was "added" to the outside of the barrel of an very old mechanical pencil, apparently to "jazz it up".  I have a strong suspicion, but clearly no definitive answer in mind.  First prize (many kudos) to the person who can identify the overlay maker and/or pen brand.  Even more kudos to the person who can identify the year(s) this was offered by the manufacturer.  Thanks in advance for any assistance you can render.
