Is that a sterling cap? Nice!

#39317 A Japan pen named SSS

Posted by quinden on 15 January 2015 - 03:51 PM in OTHER EUROPEAN and ASIAN PENS

I think the S.S.S. might stand for "Sun, Sea, Star." They were also known as San-Esu in Japan. I've seen S.S.S. pens on Japanese auction sites, but never one that looked like that. Very cool! :)

#33940 Ford

Superb!

Do any of them have that fantastic looking spade nib?

Do you mean on the 2nd one that they turned a new barrel for you?

Simon

Might you be thinking of Macniven and Cameron's Waverley nib? (article here). Can't say I've ever seen one in a Ford.

According to this article by Oldfield, it looks like a spade nib is 2.5 mm across the tips, so perhaps a BBB in another pen?

#33906 Quick questions on Bantams (Wahl-Eversharp)

Posted by quinden on 10 March 2014 - 10:58 AM in R & R: (Repair and Restoration)

I have one of the faceted pens, and the section is threaded.

Hope that helps!
