Didn't see the Golden Arrow imprint on the eBay pictures but the nib is wrong for a Golden Arrow. Finding one Golden Arrow nib is hard enough...

#43980 SHEAFFER,S 5-30 - MEANING OF IMPRINT DATA
Posted by FarmBoy on 09 June 2017 - 06:29 AM in SHEAFFER (USA "Big Five")
A quote from Wooten long ago:
5-30's (3-25's and 7-30's) are throwbacks to limited gaurantees on radite flattops. $5 pen with a 30 year gaurantee. This was dropped in the early 30's for 3's, 5's and 7's which relate to size and are priced accordingly.

Thank goodness someone explained what I was looking at and definitely not seeing. Can you still find cartridges to make them write?

#43895 Fountain Pen Journal 3.1: Spring 2017 Shipping. Patrician and Prestige
Posted by FarmBoy on 17 March 2017 - 03:27 AM in Discussion of Articles in Paul Erano's magazine, Fountain Pen Journal
This was another great issue. Paul & co are doing a fantastic job. Who knows how many variants of the Patrician are out there to be found?
I don't ever recall seeing one of the high-end Eagles at a show, though I may have looked right past one.
It was nice to see that there is no bad blood between Paul and Jonathan Veley, considering that Jonathan replaced Paul as editor of the Pennant. Whatever happened, it's good that it's all in the rearview mirror now.
I don't ever recall there being bad blood between Paul and anyone.
#43894 What kind of filler on this Wahl Oxford desk pen?

I have termed it the 'demanding' filler.

Hi,
Lovely collection.
I believe I know what the heck is going on with the gray pen.
I'll be there is no button, but more of a "dummy" button. Threaded, perhaps...

#43728 Pontiac Master Salesman Vacumatic
Posted by FarmBoy on 15 November 2016 - 05:06 AM in PARKER: (USA "Big Five")
This seems to be where all the Car company badged pens have ended up so I figured I would bump it.
I've got a new(?) one to add to the list. The pen below is on the way to me. Parker 51 DJ, appears to be a first year, with a Packard Master Salesman badge on the clip. Thought you all would find it interesting. Pics are from the seller, so not great.
Did I see this pen on eBay in the last few days?
