#35445 Sheaffer Balance meets the Black Pen Society.

Posted by Lordrdx666 on 16 June 2014 - 09:20 PM in SHEAFFER (USA "Big Five")

On a serious note - these wide band black balances are off catalogue or probably Canadian? Or UK make ?

Plus I'm sure they must be having wild nibs also ?

On another note, what do I need to do to join the black pen society ?

#35237 Sheaffer Balance Nib Evolution (?). Unusual nib finding.

Posted by Lordrdx666 on 09 June 2014 - 04:18 AM in SHEAFFER (USA "Big Five")

I came across this post right now and I've seen a similar sheaffer but in black color with the same type of nib at my pen dealer in New Delhi. Since my knowledge of sheaffer balance pens ain't upto the Level, so I never considered it carefully...

Now I'm wondering was that pen a prototype or an early run model if this one is ? Any ideas ?

#35236 Which 51 filling system do you prefer ?

Posted by Lordrdx666 on 09 June 2014 - 04:11 AM in PARKER: (USA "Big Five")

The lack of a blind cap on the aerometric makes it look more modern and elegant to me, as does the simpler arrow clip. I also prefer the more reliable filling system. The vacumatic fill version of the P51 carries over too many of the attributes of the Vacumatic to make it seem as iconic as the design of the aerometric version.

Yup that's the case

#35213 Mont Blanc 146 broad or double broad nib unit

Posted by Lordrdx666 on 08 June 2014 - 03:34 AM in Want Lists and Trade Offers

I have a Mont Blanc 146 pen from the 1980s with a fine nib

I don't use fine nibs at all

By any chance anyone interested in trading it in for broad or double broad or even medium nib ?

Aeromatic filler - it's easy to fill
PIL glass sacs are more hardy and the aeromatic fillers are easier to flush and clean also

Some of us ? You're being too modest sir :)

Sir, if I'm not wrong - this forum is dedicated to the golden era of pens and all of is who like those pens of that time- which includes you and me and everyone who love their share of vintage parker and sheaffer and waterman and Conway and swan and all other brands in between !

I myself personally like vintage and semi modern pens from the era of 1940s till early 1980
