A recent acquisition. A significant pen.  My collection of Wahl pens in scarce Flamingo continues to grow.

Really nice and looks great with that desk-base!! Why did Whall called this color Flamingo? Isn't a flamingo a bit more to the pink side ;)

I don't ever remember seeing a pen holder (or whatever they are called) that looks like that. I am just talkinig about the part where you insert the pen.   Is the base Wahl-Eversharp?

Hi Allan,

Didn't realize you were referencing the trumpet.  I'd not seen one before buying this pen. Flamingo was shown as pocket pen in 1932 catalogue. The look of the pen suggests production then or earlier, though late-production items are known in our hobby. A recent search turned up this trumpet in an ad attributed to 1940, a trade catalogue or some such. Images from items well older than the catalogue  sometimes can be used in such catalogues of course.

So, the trumpet and/or the base might be later than the pen.
