Hello all FPBoard enthusiasts,

I'm currently looking into the Parker 51 jewel types. I know for sure of the aluminum and gray jewels, but have heard about black and amber jewels. Could someone shed some light on this subject.

"Aluminum" jewels are sometimes silver. Black jewel used on 51 Special. Amber jewels were special order.

Correct, forgot to mention that. Also, I take it these jewels which were silver were not marked? Is that true? Were they special order, or were they just supplements to replace the wars need for aluminum?

Were there other varieties?

I recall seeing a green one, but it might have been a modern reproduction.

The jewels are found with two distinct thread sizes as well. Certain material/thread pitch combinations would be suspicious.

There ary many reproductions to be found.
