2014 New Year's Resolutions of a pen variety

As a 2014 New Year's Resolution, I've decided to finally clear out all the non-collection pens I've accumulated over the years that I thought I got at a bargain and would just restore and either use or sell. The time just isn't there, and I've got plenty of user pens in the rotation. So some photographing to do and then off to ebay they go, a variety of user grade Vacs and 51s.

What about you? Any pen-based new year's resolutions?

Me too,,  Ha Ha Ha...  Trying to buy less and buy better quality - but I just love the oddball ones.....  Off to a good start based on my last trip out. 

I, too, am going to try to sell off my non-collection based pens except for ones that were given to me as gifts by family members.

I would also like to stop buying pens for quite some time...we'll see how that one goes.

I had thought of resolving not to buy any pens this year. Strangely enough, the urge to buy has suddenly left me. I'm so pleased with my last three purchases that I think I've found all I'm looking for.

I've stepped up my meds, we'll see if anything changes.

I cant say when I would stop buying pens, but I am thinking  that we should give the "surplus" pens to some brilliant students , who cant afford to have it , and who will be pleased to have them . I have given away few pens in this way .It is better than selling .

The brilliant ones might reject our nostalgia for the archaic.  Look at their handwriting, first!

Bert Heiserman used to restore decrepit Waterman 52 pens with great nibs and sell them cheap to art students.  Perhaps those types would love to receive something with a little more beauty, like a Wahl deco band or a Waterman with pink nib, if you're willing to call those "surplus pens."
