Hi Vasco,

While these are not a core focus for me, the style suggests a post-Crescent-fill, good quality but second tier pen, below the Endura line during the early days of the flat-top Enduras.

Conklin did offer some chased-plastic pens, so do the rub-test to see if you get the HR smell. This one might be plastic.

Hello David,

Thank you.

I checked again and the barrel is BHR an the cap is not. Looks to be plastic as you suggested,  celluloid perhaps. The barrel is sligtly brownish and the cap is strong  black.

Was it common in Conklin to mix materials during that period? The chasing is exactly the same so i'm  sure the cap is original to the barrel

Regards

Hi Vasco and David,

A 264S (with a $2.75 price) looking at the '26 and '29 catalogs !! Not in the '30 in that pattern. Probably in that time frame the model came in both plastic and BHR, I have no idea if they mixed components during a change over or not. Out of interest it's not a post Crescent model as they also appear in the '29 catalog.

Regards

Hugh

Thank you, Hugh! It´s more information that I was hoping to get. I You even gave the original price :)

David, This forum is really great for vintage pens, thank you for hosting it. High quality information without having to go through thousandths of modern pen related posts or less interesting ( for me) subjects. Quantity is not always better!
