This is, essentially, a placeholder for people to share their experiences at the show. I await David's telling, as he looked very busy every time I saw him. It was, honestly, an odd show for me because of some personal issues, and I didn't completely get in the swing of it. Nonetheless, always love seeing old friends that I'm starting to collect (each pen show I meet more and more of the 'names' I've only heard about!) and catching up. Finally meeting Alan Goforth was nice, just sorry we didn't have time to hang out.

I hope anyone in attendance will talk about what they did, who they saw, post photos, etc.

I'll just note that some killer pens surfaced and found thier way to new homes.

I personally had a green theme going on Friday.  An unreal Vac Vac, a Waterman double pen, and a superb Sheaffer are among a few I spotted in play.

We also had the Doc swoop into action when his room mate for the show was found to be rather ill.

Well, essentially my first pen show.  I attended the LA show several years ago on a Sunday, dragging some of my non-pen friends down there.  That probably doesn't really count, because I wasn't able to spend much time and talk to people.

This time, I am sorry to say, I also didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked.  I did talk a good bit with David I., and more briefly with others - John Szanto, Luiz, Pearce, and several others.  Unfortunately, I missed a whole lot of people.  I basically could only stay one night in Manhattan Beach because of a sick pet - my cat Hannibal.  So I intended to spend a good deal of Friday, and most of Saturday at the show.  However, I was late getting started, and it took me much longer to drive down on Friday than I expected, so Friday was pretty much gone.  Frankly, the drive wiped me out.  Saturday, I did get to meet some people, and bought some really nice Vacs and a Royal Challenger from David.  However, my back was killing me, and I was having trouble standing and walking - so, when I checked out at Noon and had to drag my stuff out to my car, I wasn't even sure I could walk that far back to the show area.  So I decided to get in the car and leave. I apologize to everyone I missed, and look forward to visiting with you in the future.  I did enjoy the time I spent at the show.

Schrödinger's cat walks into a bar.  And doesn't.

Regards,
Allan

Allan, it sounds as if it was good fortune that I bumped into you while you were with David. I'm glad we met, even if briefly; I'm sorry, though, that you were going through issues and pains - not fun. There were things in the background for me, as well, that had at least a part of my spirit elsewhere.

I surely hope that you are in fine form next year and can spend more time at the show. I also hope that at some point in the next 12 months until then, we'll find an opportunity to meet up. Until then, be well.

Well, quite a haul Farmboy! I did very well at the L.A. Pen Show, a triple win for me with sales, repairs, and purchases. I was fortunate enough to see and hold David's really rare Spencerian Parker pen!

I heard there was record, Sunday attendance too!

At first, I thought Farmboy was excited to all of us, as usual, it was just a pocket full of 51s!
