When I started collecting pens, I did not spend a lot of attention to boxes, adverts and other ephemera. But during the time, I had to learn that these things are quite interesting. Also it's important to understand how things were presented and marketed in the past. It’s a great thing, being able to present a pen in the original case. I think this is much more attractive than showing only single pens. That’s why I tried to add pens with boxes to my collection when ever I was able to. Here some pictures:

Parker VIP and Minim in interesting boxes.  The VIP was a short-lived model that was basically a 51 with 61 clips.

International set with unusual cap band in plastic box that, in a larger size, was also used for the 51.  Early Pardners set.

Parker Canada 51 Jotter and pencil, circa 1958-63.  Note the gold clip, not offered on lustraloy caps (except the first couple of years in the aerometric era) in the US.

Pens in their original boxes can be very interesting. Sometimes they reveal something about the history of the pen. Sorry, I loaded up on the photos.
