I found this Parker True Blue in an antique shop while on holiday in the USA. It was sitting with a load of third tier pens and my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw it.

It cost me about £50 but I suspect that it is worth more. Apologies for the pictures as they were taken on the bonnet of the car while on the road trip so the pen is 'as found'.

The next step is to remove the petrified ink sac and replace it with a silicone one.

Wow! That actually looks close to NOS since the endcap looks like fresh ebonite (or plastic) and the color is as good as it gets. I think this is more of a preservation pen, more so than a work horse pen. I wouldn't write with it, as you'll be using it in light and the color will go darker.

Wow! The color pops. What city were you in when you found that?

It was in Bozeman, Montana

There was also a Sheaffer flat top in jade and several inkographs plus other third tier etc. I saw a ribbed 100 year pen in a shop in Helena which was missing the lever box but otherwise looked ok. If anyone is interested in the locations, I will reveal all. :)

Excellent buy!

Earlier this year there was an interesting discussion about the true blue color, here.
