Never know what will show up on ebay. I've been hunting this for a while now, I've got the barrel and I desperately need the cap. I plan on bidding this one to the death Posted Image

Great pen. Suspect you won't easily win the pen with intent to have a cap donor. I'll be happy to be proven wrong though :)

I see from checking the auction that the pen is "no longer available." This happens all the time with really rare items -- there's always someone ready to make a deal behind the scenes. What would be interesting to know is how often the seller in such cases gets snookered because he doesn't know what his treasure is worth.

I have a feeling he was offered quite a bit, because chances are many people offered him $1000+.

So what's the pen worth? I know I haven't seen one before. I'd guess and say 2.5k.

Jiffy, I'm sorry you didn't get the pen.

No worries, I didn't have my hopes to high on this one Posted Image

I know that on ebay maybe 10 years ago or so, one sold for about $1800.

After speaking with David today at the show, he told me it would bring around $7000-$8000

So you probably are right when you say someone offered him 2.5k. To someone who paid very little money for the pen, 2.5k is a very convincing offer.

I like it how some guy wrote to the seller offering $250. Seriously, do some people have no conscience?
