Moderately interesting is a Mooney dip pen:

Mooney pens are somewhat scarce, and this is the first dip pen that I've seen.

I don't think Mooney ever made dip pens. I think this is just a case when a fountain pen nib found its way into a dip pen holder. Someone got a nice nib.

Well, "made dip pens" is a stretch for almost every pen maker who offered them... That nib, though, has no breather hole, so this looks like a legit Mooney dip pen to me. Remember that there was quite a high demand for dip pens for quite a while into the twentieth century. Even Parker bought holders from Williamson and offered dip pens during the Christmas season.

I took a good look at the pictures, and you are right - the nib does not have a breather hole. Interesting item.

George
