I am assuming they made "Fat" Touchdowns in Autograph and Signature styles, but I don't recall ever seeing one. Could any of you share?

Hi,

Autograph (Sheaffer For Your Autograph) pens were made during this era. Solid gold wide capband and solid gold clip. Signature (narrower solid gold band but gold-filled clip) was intro'd during the Thin Model Touchdown era 1951.

Autograph:

It's a.ways good to keep an open mind with Sheaffer,

While fairly certain it's a TM TD from the nib shape (I don't own it) the serial number on nib , not seen by me on a TM TD before, does place a slight question mark that it could be "fat".

Agreed.

Doesn't look "Fat" from here, though we shall see. Too, I note that catalogues document TM (thin model) Touchdown as Signature, but not original ("fat") Touchdown. Of course, that which is not in catalogued occasionally does show up...

Looks like a TM TD to me as well. Interesting about the serial number on the nib, though...

Thanks for sharing the Autograph TD image, David!

Same here. Thanks for posting that image. That's another pen for my short list.

Just to show how difficult it can be....

This advertised as a "fat". Again it doesn't look it.

The gold colored threads on the autograph are a nice touch. That's quite a handsome package.
