New Batch of Fountain Pens

I bought about 60 pens on New Year's Day.  I'm quite happy with what I found, and the prices were amazing!  Here is a tray of some of the nicer ones.  I landed 30 or 40 more today, so I'll try to snap a few pics of them shortly.

A grand score :)

I could have interest in the OS Equi-Poised.

David, it was difficult to conceal my joy.  The 418 is spectacular, and for the price of a nice 51, it means I can hang on to it for a bit.  The Conklin overlay is a 4 size and it's like new!  The Waterman 7 is a pink, so that was nice too.

Shoot me a pm or an email on the Equi.  There is a fantastic jade Sheaffer senior flat top cap (barrel is awful) that I thought you might be interested in as well.

Daniel, the pens pictured are just beautiful.  If not already obliged to a mutual friend for a demonstrator, I would probably ask after the P51.  And while filigree as a genre is okay, I am absolutely awed by the Conklin Crescent.  Again, my pen budget is sorta committed right now...otherwise...

All that said, well-done.  a most fitting start to the New Year..

Bill...

Thanks, Bill.  Yes, the Conklin filigree is sweet.  I'm a native of Toledo, yet I've had only a couple sterling Crescent Fillers.

Good luck with your P51 demonstrator!

Best,

Daniel

Unbeliveable to find in one day!  We just don't see many of those kind of pens in the Midwest.  Hope to see the rest!

A few more from the New Year's Day batch.

New Batch of Dip Pens

No snow here, but very cold.  So, I tried to take a few photos (didn't do too well, I'm afraid).

These are from the batch I snatched on New Year's Day.

The Conklin is a tasty S4; the OS mottled is an Inkograph; there is a large Larkin; the long Waterman is a 62; the W/E is very clean.

Sorry I couldn't get a better shot of the little Parker....

Parker Ivorine- nice! This is a seriously concentrated quality pen find.

Yes, George, I was chuffed to bits to see the Ivorine in the pile!  It is in near mint condition, too. And for $12.50, it seemed like a real bargain.

The find of a lifetime, I suspect. Or, perhaps more than one lifetime, since most collectors's hobby lifetimes never see such a find.  I've had the pleasure to buy some excellent collections and hoards, but I can say without hesitation that  to find an auction in the wild not mobbed by collectors and featuring this level of pens truly is spectacular.

I'm glad you shared images.

Thanks, David.  Yes, it was rather extraordinary.  It is great fun to handle some of these pens.

Best,

Daniel

More Pens From the NYD Batch
FOUNTAIN
More Dip Pens From the NYD Batch
FOUNTAIN

OK, two more lots of pens and pencils from the NYD batch.  The three W/E black pens on the left are crisp and mint. Not shown but included is the orange/black triangle pattern Parker base for the red Junior.

And, I know this is the FOUNTAIN Pen Board, but I have a penchant for nice Victorian pencils and dip pens.  The sterling magic pencil is marked Gorham and is quite stunning, I think. I also quite like the long sterling taper with the bone/ivory grip--I welcome any information on this one!

Best,

Daniel
