WHOA!

I found my grail pen over the weekend, at a flea market. The Wahl Coronet set, with red inserts!

I have been dreaming of this pen for years, and now I have it, yeah!

This will be my first pen set/pen that I will put in my collection, for as most of you know, I don't have a pen collection.

Enjoy!

Wow!  Congrats, Greg, that is a great set!  Quite a start to a collection, also.  :)

Allan

Thank you Allan!

Perhaps I can allow myself one pen per year for my collection  :o

That's a pretty good one to have.  Though I've shrunk what I want in Wahl to just Tempoints...well sometimes some things are just cool and I'd have one of these.  I've got a hand full of Parkers and I've no desire to collect those in any form but, a true blue is a nice pen.

I also love this pen and I'm getting 1 in Feb. but it will probably cost me considerably more than your flea market find.  Well done!!!

Pretty pen that I never knew existed. Hopefully it will write well and you won't have to send it off hahahahahaha.

Congrats, Greg.

An iconic pen. That is worth keeping in your personal collection, or using to start a personal collection ;)

Congratulations, Greg! Really, the most beautiful pen of its kind, and your set looks to be in great condition.

This one is at the top of my list as well and, like you, has been there for years. Glad you found yours on the West Coast-- I'll keep looking on the East Coast!

At a flea market?  Good find, Greg!

I have the very same; the Coronet is one of my favorite designs, too.  I call it "writing with the Chrysler Building."  I only wish it had been offered in sterling in addition to gold-filled.

I bought mine from Bert Heiserman eight years ago.  I use mine infrequently, and the section was never as tight as I wished.  Finally, I had Brad Torelli construct an exact replacement section and amber ink view window (but had him forgo the ineffective ink shut-off) and now it is perfection!

Fred
