Thankfully, a great vendor saved this one for me at this year's Chicago Pen Show.  As soon as he saw me, he showed me the pen: a 1929 first-year OS Balance with the long humped clip touching the cap band and a pinned lever.  Then I opened the cap to reveal (drumroll, please) a Flexible #8 nib!

That is a nice find. Have you inked it up? How does it write?

An early nib, and one that is rather uncommon.

That is a nice find. Have you inked it up? How does it write?

 

I'm certain that is a bona fide real set of questions, but it made me laugh - you sound like someone who just joined FPN about 2.5 weeks ago! :)

Bravo! Those early "self-filling" nibs are often quite flexible.
