Wow! It pays to be nice at the flea market!

Just met up with a new contact who I made friends with at the flea market on Sunday; we went to a coffee shop in town and I bought a bunch of pens from them. Mostly good stuff I can use, 51's and such, but this one pen really stood out.

Smooth, all metal Conklin Crescent filler. Some teeth marks on the cap, but it only cost me $150.00.

It does! Extra Fine Flex nib. Wonderful to write with!

These new contacts I have in the pen world have really proven some amazing finds. I found that being a friend with these folks, having a few laughs, sharing (I did some watch repair for one pen dealer, including giving him a great deal on a new/old stock watch, about 10% of the retail price) paid off in spades. This dealer really recognized the special relationship I have with him, and the awesome deal I got for him on the watch. It is nice to work with folks that recognize what you do for them, for they will then do things for you, and remember how well you treated them even after the deal you work with them is long in the past.
