Recently acquired: black Shadow-wave pencil with stacked-coin band, 2Q 1942 date.

Is this moderately late for a Shadow-wave?

Hi Eric,

First a question. How do you know it's a Shadow Wave pencil?

That said, Shadow Wave had stacked coin band indeed at the very end of run 1942- perhaps early 1943.

Fair question. It has the same sort of "north-south" "salt-and-pepper" pattern of my other black Shadow-wave pens and pencils. There's too much white in it to be a Duofold pencil with a substituted clip. The imprint is very distinct, so it's clearly a Parker.

I think you've answered my question directly; yes, toward the end of the run.

(By the way, did you get the pictures of that Diamond Medal I sent you?)

Ah, then the pencil is not "black" ;)

Can we get a photo posted here, or is this a private conversation? :)

I'm going to try to get something that's actually viewable. iPhone is my only current digital camera, but there's another way around this that I'm working on.

Let's see if this .pdf is visible...this shows the Diamond Medal pen from a few different angles.
