I've been considering doing a run (nothing to do with Paul or the new mag) of "i QUIT the pca" pins.  Just need an artist or graphics person. Or maybe I can sketch a rough in Photoshop since it will be all letters.

If you are joking, the jest is not in good taste.

Even as a joke, it is a slap in the face to an awful lot of good people -- including many you claim as friends.

None of us are going to be around forever.

We've already lost so much knowledge, between senior collectors dying, oral accounts unrecorded, and websites abandoned unarchived. It only makes sense to have a central repository for the field, maintained by a permanent organization. All to the good to have backup repositories, to be sure, but vital to have something that will outlast any one individual, or any for-profit partnership -- something that serves pen collecting as a whole.

We *need* the PCA.

It may not be perfect, but it is essential.

They are really only minimally online. Like a local restaurant that posts a menu and directions and that's all.

All is OK out in California, but they are swamped right now -- a whole bunch of very large orders, stretching their production capacity.
