#15959 Parker Penman Button Fillers.

Posted by brando090 on 07 July 2012 - 06:04 PM in PARKER: (USA "Big Five")

I recently just sold 2 Parker Penman lever filler pens, and now today i just got two in which are both button fillers. How common are the button filler pens? Im not sure if id call them button fillers, because the plunger (plunger filler?) is about and inch and a fourth.

#17843 Any vintage overlay copper pens out there?

Posted by brando090 on 14 September 2012 - 01:38 AM in Elements of Collecting: Hunting, Valuing and Polemicizing

Since the beginning of my pen journey ive always loved overlays, and sometime into the hobby i learned what metals patina'd and what ones didn't. I've always loved copper, but i never able to track down any copper overlay pens. Were any pens ever made from copper?

#15998 Unknown piston filler, probably from Germany

Posted by brando090 on 08 July 2012 - 03:26 PM in Post Your Pen Finds

Nice pen!

Since the high build quality, id say probably 2nd tier, but most likely 3rd tier since it has no name on the clip and its a Warranted nibed pen. To clean out the pen, get some luke warm water, and just keep flushing (10ish times). After that, put a few drops of soap in, and flush a few more times, and than once more with clean water. That was you can see the ink window.

#18047 Lower tier pens make good $..why?

Posted by brando090 on 19 September 2012 - 03:18 AM in Elements of Collecting: Hunting, Valuing and Polemicizing

Nice catch Hugh,

Sometime these sellers who put restored and flex in there listing, get a really good price. I dont know how these people do it, but it amazes me at times as well. The Majestic is a nice pen, but i wonder how 'easy' of a times the buyer will have with the pen when it comes time to sell it Posted Image

#17224 The sad reality from a dishonest reviewer

Posted by brando090 on 28 August 2012 - 05:53 AM in Elements of Collecting: Hunting, Valuing and Polemicizing

I rarely go on this site, but they do keep good tips and up to date information. I scanned through the titles, and this one jumped out at me, "Making 28k a month" from reviews.

http://finance.yahoo...-131408538.html

I would only hope such an act wouldn't go unseen, because many of us readers depend on reviews to purchase pens, and an act like this would only unbalance the teeter-totter between someone buying a pen and not.
