Hi guys,

I've always wondered why striped jewels and sections weren't used on all Vac models. My initial guess would be that they were a mark of premium quality for high-end Vacs, but apart from that, are there other reasons for their limited use? Was the striped celluloid structurally more difficult to fashion for the purposes of a section? Perhaps it was a method of conserving the limited supply of precious rod stock?

Additionally, I noticed that no Azure Vacs have striped sections or jewels even for Senior Maximas. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks all!

From,

They are only on the earlier ones.  I always figured they stopped because it was cheaper to put the same color (black) on all the them than try to match the jewels with the individual pens.  The blue color came later after they stopped matching the jewels with the pens.
