I'm especially excited about the arrival of the 2nd from the right as it gives me an example of what I think are all five trim combinations. Perhaps the correct order (left to right) should be: #1, #5, #3, #4 (and #2 is by itself)?

Not really (in a significant way) - I have a few slender ones but I consider these to be the same "size." Age wise I think:
- stepped clip, plastic end rings (earliest)
- stepped clip, metal end rings (middle)
- faceted clip, metal end rings (latest)
- faceted clip, plastic end rings (?)
And then Canada:
- rounded clip, plastic end rings (?)
